Fredericksburg, Texas 78624
United States
When the United States entered World War II in 1941, its greatest strength was not only its military forces but its industrial capacity. Factories across the nation worked around the clock to supply the armed forces with ships, aircraft, vehicles, and weapons needed to fight a global war.
This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the American home front during World War II. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into the men and women who built tanks, airplanes, and artillery shells, often working under dangerous conditions to keep the war effort moving.
Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
