Vue d'ensemble

La Pioneer Memorial Library est certainement l'un des plus beaux bâtiments de Fredericksburg. Cette structure historique a d'abord été le deuxième palais de justice du comté de Gillespie et a été conçue par le célèbre architecte Alfred Giles. La pierre utilisée pour le projet a été extraite au nord-est de la ville. Il a été construit en 1881/1882 et a servi de palais de justice jusqu'en 1939. En 1966-1977, le bâtiment a été rénové grâce au soutien financier de M. et Mme Eugene McDermott et a été inauguré en tant que bibliothèque en 1967. Aujourd'hui, la bibliothèque offre d'excellentes ressources imprimées et en ligne, ainsi qu'une vaste section pour enfants.

Festival du livre de Fredericksburg

The third annual Fredericksburg Book Festival on Saturday, January 16, 2027, will feature Texas authors. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can hear authors speak, get books signed, complete arts and crafts activities, and receive a free custom poem by Typewriter Rodeo. Free trolley shuttle service between the Pioneer Memorial Library, St. Joseph's Halle, Holy Family Center (St. Mary’s Catholic Church), and the Gillespie County Historical Society.
